'Hobella' is a highly sought-after lacecap hydrangea famous for its incredible color-changing blooms and exceptionally long flowering season. The flowers go through three magical stages: opening in a soft pastel pink, aging to a vintage pale green, and finally blushing with a gorgeous cherry-red in autumn. It is an absolute showstopper whether planted in your garden borders or used as a cut flower indoors.
Care & Planting Instructions:
-
Position: Part shade. Morning sun is perfect, but it needs strict protection from the harsh afternoon sun.
-
Size: A compact, rounded shrub growing to about 1.2m tall and wide—perfect for courtyards or large patio pots.
-
Soil & Water: Requires rich, well-draining soil. Hydrangeas love water, so keep the soil consistently moist during hot summer days (but avoid waterlogging).
-
Maintenance & Pruning: Very easy! Simply prune out any weak, crossing stems and old flower heads in late winter or early spring to encourage fresh new growth for the coming season.
